The WBO has run out of patience, and that is the real story in this AKHi TV video. Raymond Muratalla is now the WBO’s number one mandatory for Shakur Stevenson at 140 pounds, and according to the host, Timothy Bradley has already called his shot: Bradley posted a video saying Shakur will duck the mandatory.
Be clear about what this video is. Bradley does not appear live, and neither does Bill Haney. The host narrates the whole thing — reporting Bradley’s position, and recounting a private conversation he says he had with Bill Haney after Keyshawn Davis turned down $3 million to fight Devin Haney. That figure is the host’s claim, stated in the video, not a document shown on screen.
Here is where it gets interesting: the host does not co-sign Bradley. His own position is the opposite — he says he has to see it to believe Shakur ducks Muratalla right now, and he points out the obvious: Muratalla is an undefeated 135-pounder moving up, exactly the kind of opponent size Shakur has no excuse with. Not as big as Haney at 147. Not as small as Foster at 130. “Shakur said it’s easy work. Then show us. Talk is cheap.”
The host also lays out the squeeze. If Shakur does not like the DAZN deal in front of him, this goes to purse bid — and Zuffa, per the host, were only ever interested in the Haney mega-fight anyway. Meanwhile the alternatives keep closing: Foster is headed for undisputed and then Lomachenko, and the host says Shakur won’t fight Abdullah Mason or Floyd Schofield either. This is the same corner Bradley tried to coach him out of this week — and Shakur’s camp rejected that plan too.
Our take: Bradley’s prediction is not crazy, because the pattern is the pattern. But a mandate is different from a callout. There is a belt, a deadline and a purse bid waiting, and ducking a mandatory costs more than pride — it costs the title. The host is right about one thing above all: talk is cheap. Sign it, vacate, or get stripped. Those are the only three endings here.
