Shakur Calls Canelo a GOAT — AKHi Says Only a Duck Calls Another Duck a GOAT

Shakur Stevenson watched Canelo Alvarez beat Christian Mbilli to become WBC champion again at 168 and posted his verdict: Canelo is a GOAT, respect to a legend. AKHi TV heard that and reached for the one sentence the whole video hangs on — a GOAT and a duck do not go together, and only a duck calls another duck a GOAT. The host’s case against Canelo is a charge sheet, and it is presented here as his: rivals ducked, rehydration clauses and catchweights stacked on the scales, the biggest fights of his career lost and never avenged, and a past positive test that never leaves the conversation. Beat Mbilli, the host says, and none of that gets erased.

The sharper cut is aimed at Shakur himself. In the host’s telling, Shakur is not following the Floyd Mayweather blueprint — he is following the Canelo blueprint, and that is why there is no big Shakur fight in front of us right now. The host says Shakur was released from his deal because the money only made sense if he fought the man he was supposed to fight, recounts the Zuffa money as a fortune tied to a Devin Haney fight that Shakur said no to, and adds the O’Shaquie Foster fight to the turned-down list. Those are AKHi’s claims, stated as the host stated them — but they rhyme with a record this site has covered fight by fight: the big name is always one negotiation away, and the negotiation always breaks the other way.

Then comes the style test, and it is the same one from the Turki video. When William Zepeda came to Shakur looking for a war, Shakur sat in the pocket and gave him one. When Mbilli came to Canelo looking for a war, Canelo turned matador, not bull — Ali style, in the host’s words. The host concedes Canelo looked spectacular, for Canelo, and that he had predicted a Canelo knockout before Mbilli settled for surviving. His objection is the timing of the crown: he compares it to Shakur once saying Tyson Fury beats Muhammad Ali off a win over a washed name, long before Fury had beaten anybody significant. Call a man the greatest of all time for beating a C-level fighter, the host asks, and the words stop meaning anything.

Our take: AKHi called the Mbilli fight correctly before the bell — the winner, the route, the deck around it. That earns his post-fight voice a hearing. Canelo is a legend; the record says that on its own. GOAT is a different word, and it is earned against the Benavidezes and Crawfords of the world, not handed out on social media after a survival-mode challenger goes the distance.
